The prayer vigil is supported by people who have already attended their Walk to Emmaus (or similar 4th Day movement) weekend. Please register below for the upcoming men's and women's prayer vigils.

If you're already signed up, please read below for pilgrim & team names, and prayer vigil suggestions.

Prayer

Prayer Vigil Suggestions (Short Version):

  • Begin by asking God to clear your mind of all outside distractions. Place all your thoughts and your spirit with the people and the walk you have come to Him to bless.

  • Be silent for a few seconds and begin to feel His presence with you.  Pray as if you are talking to your best friend – you are!

  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide each of the board members as they seek God's plans for the next Walk to Emmaus.

  • And lastly, give it all to our Lord and Friend –Who sees and knows, asking for blessing and presence with the board members and Emmaus community.

  • End by praising and thanking God for the opportunity He has given you to talk to Him on behalf of others.

Expanded Prayer Vigil Suggestions/Agenda:

  • Pray for the lay director, by name by duty. They must walk in His Spirit for anything that they may be called upon to do.

  • Pray for the assistant lay directors, that they will be keenly aware of the needs of the pilgrims and help keep the walk on schedule.

  • Pray for the spiritual director that they may truly be an instrument of the Holy Spirit.

  • Pray for the assistant spiritual directors, for the love of Jesus Christ to shine through them for every pilgrim to see. Pray that they are aware of the needs of everyone on the walk and that they allow the Holy Spirit to guide them and speak through them.

  • Pray for the Board Representative that they may have the courage to keep the purity of the event and not let personalities keep them from doing what they promised God they will do.

  • Pray for the speakers, that they remember whom they represent, that they lay down self, and glorify Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for the talks…for the message each talk contains and for each person who hears, that they may hear according to their need and that their ears will be open to the cries of the needy and their eyes and hearts will be opened to the needs of the community.
