Mega Gathering 2010
Greetings Emmaus Community
As Christians we are called to fellowship, to love one another as Christ has loved us, and to build up the Body of Christ. One of the many ways the Emmaus Community can do this is through Gatherings.
This year, we have the opportunity to host a “MEGA GATHERING” while celebrating 30-years of Emmaus walks in the Southeast Michigan Community.
If you have attended a Gathering, you know the excitement of seeing Christian brothers and sisters you met on your walk or while serving on a team; the joy of singing and praising God; the blessing of celebrating worship and communion together; and the opportunity to hear what God is doing in the lives of members of our Emmaus Community.
For this MEGA GATHERING to happen, we will need “many” willing servants to assist with the planning of this event – and what a great opportunity to serve! Some of the areas to serve include:
Planning : 3-4 volunteers to help with the overall planning including the date and time, supplies,etc.
Site Selection: 1-2 volunteers to help locate a central location
Music: MANY volunteers as the Emmaus Community LOVES to praise and worship!
Food / Refreshments: 3-4 volunteers as the Emmaus Community LOVES to eat!
Communication: 1-2 volunteers to help with communication to our community, including emails, church bulletins/newsletters, etc.
Setup / Cleanup: MANY volunteers as this will allow all to enjoy the celebration.
Please prayerfully consider volunteering to serve on this planning team. Many volunteers will help all to enjoy in a great celebration of what God continues to do in our lives. If you are willing to assist, PLEASE contact Donna Schirs at gatherings@emsem.org . We would like to schedule the first planning meeting in mid-March.

What do we need to do to make this happen? Prayerfully consider being part of a "Gathering" planning team.
The Goal Re-energize the Community by having a Gathering scheduled each month in different "Host Churches" throughout our Community.
